This movie was surprisingly good! Have any of you watched it? What did you think?

I'd say it was my fav movie this year.

I liked it.  One of the better films of the year, actually.

It's very stylistic. But the plot's average. Thumbs up for director, thumbs down for writer.

Since 2011.

I thought the first 5 minutes or so was awesome! Then it gets less awesome and the movie slows down in my opinion. I liked it overall though.

I'm going to see it tonight. Been looking forward to it for so long. I hope it's good.

As long as you don't have unrealistic expectations you should enjoy it. It's a good flick for sure but I think the hype has people expecting something else.

Thanks, Falcon.

So what did you think of the movie?

I thought the beginning was one of my favorite scenes in film. All the chase scenes were creative and worth seeing. The acting was top notch, especially the use of subtext; the things they didn't say were often more powerful than what they did say. The characters were creatively written and unique. They weren't predictable. The ending was too artsy for me. I understand that critics like those kind of endings, but I prefer endings that are more straight forward. While I wasn't a fan of the graphic violence, it done creatively and seemed appropriate for the story. It was worth seeing, if only for the car scenes and acting, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

"While I wasn't a fan of the graphic violence, it done creatively and seemed appropriate for the story" should have been "... it was done creatively..." instead of "it done creatively." I didn't see an option to edit my post after I posted it.

:)

I can't find a way to edit posts either. I agree that the violence was a bit much, well the elevator scene, the rest was ok for me, oh wait, the shotgun in the motel was a bit overboard but that didn't disturb me as much for some reason.

Great movie otherwise and like you said the acting was very good.

Made some changes, you should now be able to edit your own posts.

Henning, I was able to edit my post. Thank you. When you have time, can you create an option to delete our posts as well? If not, no biggie.

i considered drive my fave movie last year... i thought it was a great blend of the styles of tarantino and lynch (though the funny thing is that Tarantino didn't quite like it... guess time will tell how he feels later on)...

I still thought that this movie was horribly snubbed by Oscar... Ryan Gosling and Albert Brooks especially should've been given some consideration;  and the cinematography was superb.

oh, and points for the music, and the modern-80's vibe (or as it has been put a few times, "neo-noir")
