Amazon now accepting pre-orders for THE HUNGER GAMES

Amazon just announced that they are accepting pre-orders for "The Hunger Games," which, like "The Avengers," took movie theaters by storm. It's scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 18. So how big is this title? The Internet Movie Database lists a sequel for 2013, a threequel in 2015, and a fourth film with no time projection.

Synopsis: Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match.

Brilliant premise. Is this the direction reality TV is headed?

"The Hunger Games" is directed by Gary Ross ("Pleasantville," "Seabiscuit") and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Willow Shields, and Elizabeth Banks. It's based on the young adult bestseller by Suzanne Collins.
