Warner Bros. to release THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT and DAVE on Blu-ray September 25

The presidential comedies pair Michael Douglas with Annette Bening and Kevin Kline with Sigourney Weaver.

Warner Bros. announced September 25 as the release date for two presidential comedies on Blu-ray for the first time:  "The American President" and "Dave."

"The American President" is a 1995 romantic dramedy starring Michael Douglas, Annette Bening and Martin Sheen. Douglas plays a widowed U.S. president and Bening a lobbyist who finds that dating the president can be a strange experience. Rob Reiner directed this warm-hearted film, which earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture—Comedy/Musical.

In "Dave," a 1993 comedy-romance, a president's handlers employ a look-alike after the chief executive lapses into a coma. Now, can they really succeed in using the president as a puppet? Not if Kevin Kline has anything to say about it, or the First Lady (Sigourney Weaver) who can tell the difference but prefers this version of her husband. Frank Langella plays the heavy in this film by Ivan Reitman ("Ghostbusters").
