2here2there, Vol. 1: Guy T. Fisher

2here2there is an on going video-documentary of four "bohemian artists", who worked and/or lived on the edge of chicago's southside, Blue Island, Il. "2here" refers to Jim Anderson and Douglas Van Dyke who exist on this plane. "2there" to Charles A. Koepke (d. 3-5-90) and Guy T. Fisher (d.7-28-02) on the other side of life. Vol. 1 concentrates on the drawings, paintings, poems and dissonant sounds of Guy T. Fisher. This Vol. is a "Frankenstein's monster" of sorts; combining secondary source material, using noisy static positioned camcorders, archaic 8mm. movie film, fifty-yr. old photos, low end studio tape recording equipment and Quick Time slideshow presentations (we never claimed to be professional film makers). The glue that binds this raw production together is the integrity and honesty of Guy T. Fisher. Guy T. "just a child who wanted to play", as noted in one of his sketchbooks, is one way we could describe him. Another would be as an "unschooled primitive, naive painter, ousider artist, expressionist, impressionist, ICONOCLAST, spiritual pagan, poet. Guy T. wore these titles with pride. It is an honor to document his work and a privilege to have been his friend. Until the return brother...I shall carry on. Douglas Van Dyke 3-5-06.
